   한겨울 따스한 온기에 휩쓸리려면 부여 신동엽 생가 마루에 걸터앉아라

   정확하게 일백구십삼도 남향을 가늠하려거든
   점심 먹고 카페 손사레치며 갸우뚱거리지 말고
   무심한 듯 슬그머니 기척 없이 터덜터덜 걸어 와
   적멸의 고요 먼 곳의 울림이 몸으로 감싸고돌 때
   백마강 고란사 너머 왕흥사지의 소근대는 속삭임이 지척이다.

   한참을 볼록렌즈에 수렴하듯 태양에 데워지는 몸을
   지긋이 눈 내려깔고 단정하게 내 안을 살피면
   빛살 모아진 이마와 무릎이 뜨거워져 타들어 갈 듯
   고르게 분산시켜 온기를 순환하여 휘돌게 한다.
   이엉 올린 담장의 그늘이 다가오려면 한참이다.

   남향의 햇살이 타올라 살갖에 스며들 때는
   눈을 뜨고 시선을  싱숭생숭 흩뜨리거나
   바람 자락에 실려 들락대는 우주의 너울에 올라탄다.
   금성산에서 왕포천에 버무렸다 흘러들어오는
   이윽고 숙성되어 청량해지는 숨결을 담는다.

  If you want to be swept away by the warm warmth of midwinter, sit on the floor of Shin Dong-yeop's birthplace in Buyeo

 

   If you want to accurately gauge the 193-degree southward direction
   After lunch, don't tilt your head while dismissing the café
   Walk nonchalantly, quietly, without a trace, trudging along

   When the stillness of entering nirvana and the distant resonance envelop your body
   The murmuring whispers of Wangheungsa Temple beyond Goransa Temple on Baekma River are close by

 

   For a while, like converging in a convex lens, as the body warms in the sun

   Lower your gaze gently and look within yourself neatly
   The forehead and knees, where the rays of light gather, grow hot as if they might burn
   Evenly disperse the warmth to circulate and swirl around
   It takes a while for the shadow of the thatched wall to approach

 

   When the south-facing sunlight flares up and seeps into your skin
   Open your eyes and scatter your gaze restlessly
   Or ride the cosmic waves carried by the edges of the wind
   Mixed in Geumseong Mountain and Wangpo Stream, flowing in
   Eventually maturing and capturing the refreshing breath

시작 메모

겨울 해가 머무는 부여를 찾았다. 신동엽 생가를 찾아 마루에 앉는다. 정남향 일백구십삼도의 각도가 주는 의미를 온몸으로 느낀다. 커피 마시자는 카페의 유혹을 뿌리친다. 고요 속으로 걸어 들어간다. 발자국 소리마저 지우며 걷는다. 적멸의 깊이가 나를 감싼다.

저 멀리 백마강이 스친다. 고란사와 왕흥사지의 천년 울림이 맴돈다. 볼록렌즈처럼 태양빛을 집광한다. 이마와 무릎으로 스며드는 따스한 기운이 온몸을 돈다. 이엉 얹은 담장의 그늘은 짧다. 그늘이 길어져 생가 마루를 찾아올 때까지 는 아직 한참 멀었다.

햇살이 온몸을 풀어헤친다. 잠시 시선을 자유롭게 흩뜨린다. 바람에 실려 오는 우주의 너울을 탄다. 금성산의 숨결이 왕포천을 거쳐 내 안으로 스민다. 청량한 숨결이 온몸을 적신다.

I visited Buyeo, where the winter sun lingers. I found the birthplace of Shin Dong-yeop and sat on the wooden floor. I felt the meaning of the 193-degree south-facing angle with my whole body. I resisted the temptation of a café inviting me for coffee. I walked into the silence. I walked, erasing even the sound of my footsteps. The depth of entering nirvana envelops me.

Far away, Baekma River brushes past. The thousand-year resonance of Goransa Temple and Wangheungsa Temple lingers. Like a convex lens, it gathers sunlight. The warm energy seeping through my forehead and knees circulates through my body. The shadow of the thatched fence is short. It will still be a long time before the shadow grows long enough to reach the wooden floor of the birthplace.

The sunlight loosens my entire body. For a moment, I let my gaze scatter freely. I ride the cosmic waves carried by the wind. The breath of Geumseong Mountain seeps into me through Wangpo Stream. The refreshing breath drenches my whole body.
