다시 매화에게

꽃샘 추위를 견디기에도
매화는 늘 그자리 변함없다
시새울 줄 몰라 피어나는 것을

견고히 맡기다 스러지기까지
다시 매화가 되어 매화로 피기까지

겨울은 향기 지닌 꽃이 되고
햇살이 있어 거듭 꽃이 된다

잠시 피다 말 동안
눈앞에 어른대며 여울처럼 차이는 것이
그리움일지 허공으로 내뻗치고
허공은 이내 긴 여행을 마친다

Even enduring the late winter cold
The plum blossom remains unchanged in its place
Blooming without knowing envy

Firmly entrusted until it fades away
Becoming a plum blossom again, blooming as a plum blossom

Winter becomes a fragrant flower
With sunlight, it becomes a flower again

During the brief moment of blooming
What flickers before the eyes, rippling like a stream
Might be longing, stretching out into the void
The void soon completes its long journey

시작 메모

차가운 겨울날, 창가에 피어난 매화 한 그루가 시선을 잡는다. 꽃샘추위를 이겨내며 피어난다. 매화의 강인한 생명력이 가슴을 적신다. 매화나무 앞에서 꽃의 의연함에 숙연해진다.

시간의 흐름 속에서도 변함없다. 늘 그자이다. 그래서 내 안의 그리움이 작동한다. 허공을 향해 뻗은 가지 끝에서 피어난다. 꽃잎이 여울처럼 흐른다. 향기로운 생이다.

겨울과 봄의 경계이다. 그럼에도 영원처럼 길다. 허공을 가르며 피었다가 스러진다. 존재의 순환적 여정을 사유한다. 끊임없이 매화는 다시 매화가 되어 피어날 것이다. 부증불감(不增不減)의 우주를 유영한다.

On a cold winter day, a single plum blossom tree blooming by the window catches the eye. It blooms, overcoming the cold snap. The resilient vitality of the plum blossom touches the heart. Standing before the plum tree, one becomes solemn in the face of the flower's composure.

It remains unchanged through the passage of time. It is always the same. That is why the longing within me stirs. It blooms at the tips of branches reaching toward the void. Petals flow like a stream. It is a fragrant life.

It is the boundary between winter and spring. Yet it feels as long as eternity. It blooms cutting through the void, only to fade away. It contemplates the cyclical journey of existence. The plum blossom will endlessly bloom again as a plum blossom. It drifts through the universe of neither increase nor decrease (不增不減).
