흰 눈의 뒷면

   리기다소나무 줄기에서 돋아난 맹아에 흰 눈이 고이 맺힌다.

   줄기 한켠에 피어난 눈꽃

   완이재翫怡岾 내려가는 고운 서설에 곱게 닿는다.

   흰 눈의 뒷면이 드러나고

   지난 가을에 푸르던 신갈나무 잎과 솔잎의 맨살에도 맺힌다.

   직립의 나무마다 눈꽃을 모시는 위치와 방향이 다르다.

   굽거나 휜 줄기가 각기 다른 형상을 지니듯

   눈꽃이 들붙은 자리가 나무의 안방이고 사당이다.

   흰 눈은 숲의 뒷면으로 포근한 안위를 덮으며

   환해진 숲속에서 경계의 눈빛을 쏘아댄다.

The back of the white snow

   White snow gathers and settles on the sprouts emerging from the trunk of the rigida pine.
   A snow flower blooming on one side of the trunk
   It gently touches the fine snowfall descending on Wani-jae (翫怡岾).
   The back of the white snow is revealed
   It also settles on the bare skin of the oak leaves and pine needles that were green last autumn.

   Each upright tree has a different position and direction for hosting snow flowers.
   Just as bent or curved trunks have their own unique shapes
   The spot where snow flowers cling becomes the tree's inner chamber and shrine.
   White snow covers the back of the forest with a cozy comfort
   In the brightened forest, it shoots glances of vigilance.

하얀 눈이 소리 없이 내린다. 리기다소나무의 줄기에서 돋아난 맹아가 돋보인다. 그 위에 고이 맺힌 흰 눈은 겨울의 포근함을 속삭인다. 줄기 한켠에 피어난 눈꽃이 고운 서설에 닿는다. 세상의 모든 소음이 사라진 듯한 고요함 속에서도 따스함이 감돈다.

흰 눈의 뒷면이 드러나는 순간이다. 지난 가을의 신갈나무 잎과 솔잎의 맨살이 떠오른다. 그 푸르던 기억을 눈꽃이 감싼다. 시간의 흐름는 늘 새로운 느낌을 자아낸다. 나무마다 눈꽃이 맺히는 위치와 방향이 다르다. 굽거나 휜 줄기가 각기 다른 형상을 지니고 있는 모습만큼 다르다. 숲의 다양성과 고유성에 다가선다.

눈꽃이 붙은 자리는 나무의 안방이자 사당이다. 이곳에서 포근한 안위를 얻는다. 숲속의 환한 빛이 경계의 눈빛으로 바라본다. 흰 눈의 서사는 고요함과 생태적 명상이다. 

White snow falls silently. The sprout emerging from the trunk of the rigida pine stands out. The white snow delicately perched on it whispers the coziness of winter. A snow flower blooming on one side of the trunk touches the gentle snowfall. Even in the stillness that feels as if all the noise of the world has vanished, warmth lingers.

It is the moment when the underside of the white snow is revealed. The bare skin of the oak leaves and pine needles from last autumn comes to mind. The snow flowers embrace those green memories. The passage of time always evokes a new feeling. The position and direction where snow flowers form on each tree differ. Just as the bent or twisted trunks have unique shapes, they are distinct. This brings one closer to the diversity and uniqueness of the forest.

The spot where the snow flower clings is both the inner sanctuary and shrine of the tree. Here, one finds a cozy sense of comfort. The bright light in the forest gazes with a watchful eye. The narrative of the white snow is one of stillness and ecological meditation.
