원림 곳곳에 불쑥 만나기에 놀랍지 않은 인사는 흐뭇하여

먼저랄 것 없이 수신호처럼 마음을 주고받는다고 여겼지 

놀라면서 진정하고 앞에서 쫄랑대며 바쁠 때

곁을 조심스레 지나고 저만치 나아가서는 되돌아 안위를

살피는 게  

그게 그리 대수랍니까

 

숨소리 하나 들리지 않게 빙 돌아 발꿈치 들고 살살

언덕 오를 때 내는 씩씩거림조차도 입 오므려 낮추고

마치 살아 있는 것들끼리는 한결 무심하여 무정해야 하듯

눈길도 손길도 마주침도 다가섬도

소나무 등걸에서 나무꼭대기까지 냅다 들춰 메고 그리 빠

르게 손절하면 되는지요

 

초목만 아우르지 말고 바위나 흙길에까지 다정하라는 게

무생물에도 유정하라는 일침이었을

무정하여 뒤돌아 만감을 되새기며 쓸쓸하지 말라는 약조

봄날 넘쳐흐르는 강물처럼

달빛이 너무 밝아 그림자가 짙게 드리운 것처럼

지나치고 과분하여 넘쳐난 관심이라는 건가요

 

그러니 아무것도 하지 말고

메마른 땅에 스며들지 못하는 빗방울처럼

겨울 햇살이 닿지 않는 그늘처럼

닿거나 미치지 못하는 부족함이어야 한다며 내뛰는 형국

내원재 오를 때는 눈 감고 살그머니 통과하고

완이재에서 산목재로 뛰고 날든, 고개를 갸웃대며 백치미

를 날리든

고요한 호수  위 달빛처럼

적당한 거리에서 비추는 봄볕처럼

쳐다보지도 머뭇대며 망설이지도 말라는 것이겠지요

Squirrel

Greetings that are not surprising when encountered unexpectedly here and there in the garden are heartwarming
Without any precedence, it was thought that hearts were exchanged like hand signals
While startled, calming down, and bustling in front when busy
Carefully passing by and moving a bit further, then looking back to check on safety
Is that such a big deal?

Silently circling around, tiptoeing gently without making a sound
Even the panting sound made while climbing the hill is suppressed by pursing lips
As if living beings must be indifferent and unfeeling to one another
Glances, touches, encounters, and approaches
From the pine tree stump to the treetop, carrying it all at once and quickly severing ties, is that how it should be?

Not just embracing vegetation but also being kind to rocks and dirt paths
It might have been a rebuke to show affection even to inanimate objects
A promise not to feel lonely while reflecting on countless emotions with indifference
Like the overflowing river in spring
Like the moonlight so bright that shadows are cast deeply
Is it excessive and overwhelming attention that overflows?

So, do nothing at all
Like raindrops that fail to seep into the parched ground
Like the shade untouched by winter sunlight
Saying it must be a state of insufficiency that neither reaches nor touches, running wild
When climbing Naewonjae, close your eyes and pass through quietly
Whether leaping and flying from Wani-jae to Sanmok-jae, or tilting your head and exuding a naive charm
Like the moonlight over a tranquil lake
Like spring sunlight shining from an appropriate distance
It must mean not to stare or hesitate with indecision

시작 메모


매일 원림을 찾는다. 주로 고즈넉한 아침에 걷는다. 자주 청설모와 직면한다. 만날 때마다 마주치는 순간마다 경이롭다. 그들의 날렵한 움직임이 내 시선을 사로잡는다. 자연과 인간의 거리를 생각한다. 내원재에서 완이재로 이어지는 길목에서 청설모가 그려내는 풍경에 다다른다.

소나무 가지를 타고 오르내리는 청설모의 몸짓이 사람과의 관계로 흐른다. 그들의 경계하는 눈빛에 따라 내 발걸음은 조심스럽게 마음을 다잡는다. 생명 있는 유정물과 무생물인 무정물이 주고받는 침묵의 대화에서 각성한다.

봄날의 강물처럼 넘치는 감정을 달빛의 농담으로 걸러낸다. 적당한 거리의 미학을 깨닫는다. 메마른 땅과 빗방울의 관계처럼, 겨울햇살과 그늘의 관계처럼 서로를 존중하는 거리를 배운다. 원림의 고요 속에서 생명의 섬세한 울림을 담아낸다.

Visits the garden daily. Usually walks in the serene morning. Often encounters squirrels. Every meeting and every moment of encounter is awe-inspiring. Their agile movements captivate my gaze. Reflects on the distance between nature and humans. Reaches the scenery painted by squirrels on the path from Naewonjae to Wani-jae.

The gestures of squirrels climbing up and down pine branches flow into a relationship with humans. My steps cautiously adjust according to their wary glances. Awakens in the silent dialogue exchanged between living beings and inanimate objects.

Filters overflowing emotions of spring days through the nuances of moonlight. Realizes the aesthetics of appropriate distance. Learns to respect the distance between entities, like the relationship between parched land and raindrops, or winter sunlight and shadows. Captures the delicate resonance of life within the tranquility of the garden.
